I am very concerned with housing in Key West. Although Monroe County and the City of Key West are working a long term solution. We need an immediate solution. We need our absentee owners of non transient licensed properties to re consider doing vacation rentals and transitioning into long term rentals. By doing this the owner will have more income over the year and less expenses. I understand they want the opportunity to visit the property throughout the year. Maybe they can give up their vacation for a year or two to help our island’s workforce.
